Time to catch up, blogworld

Hello All!  Well I promised that many more exciting things were ahead (back in July/early August) for us Wilson's here in Virginia...and I am about to deliver!  (And the fun is not over yet.)  Be warned, this is going to be a BIG blog post!

The following is a chronicle of our AMAZING vacation to New York City (August 6-10).  It was my very first time visiting NYC, so we did all of the must-sees and dos.  Aaron and I had nothing short of a blast having a little time away together in such a fun city.

On Day 1, we took the train from Union Station in DC to Penn Station in NYC.  We walked around and took some random pics of some of the highlights during the day and then got some NY pizza for dinner (of course!) and then went to see Tom Papa (host of the Marriage Ref) at a comedy club called Caroline's. 

Aaron with a copy of his favorite pencil drawing of Manhattan. He has a framed one of these (from his bachelor days) and I made him a deal that if he took me on vacation to NYC that he could put it up.  So basically, as much as I love NYC, the interior decor of our house is screwed.

On Day 2, we did a walking tour of Lower Manhattan and Ground Zero, then we took the (free!) Staten Island Ferry to...you guessed it...Staten Island to get some time on the Hudson and some great views of the city!  At night, we dolled up and went to Basso 56 (yum yum yum...Thank you Angelica, I owe you one for suggesting that) and then saw Wicked on Broadway!  It was a wonderful, fun-filled day!

A "together" picture (these aren't abundant when you don't have your own photographer following you around...).  Random lady missed the "us and the NY Stock Exchange sign" request, but here we are, all smiles!

While no photo will ever do the things that you feel seeing Ground Zero for the first time justice, I thought the picture of the crane that is continuing to work on the site, the American flags, and a surviving building would do for now until the memorial is finished.

On Day 3, we hit up Central Park for some nice mid-city scenery, some shopping at Tiffany & Co., visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Chinatown, and ate dinner and reminisced about my italiana childhood in Littly Italy.  Here's some of what we captured...

One would think a lady might like a romantic carriage ride through central park.  My husband thankfully knows my better than that.  EWWW

I started making deals with couples taking solo pictures of one another.  It would go like this: "hey, would you like me to take a picture of the two of you together? Yes?  Great! Then we could maybe switch and we'll give you our camera."  Manipulation at its finest.

I visited Eloise at the Plaza!  Too bad she wouldn't let me stay and wreak havoc with her...

Yeah.  This smile is very real. :)

Akward picture, yes, but when the big Italian man who you ask to take the picture tells you "go hug your husband", you friggin better go hug your husband.

On our last full day (Day 4), we went to the top of the Empire State Building for some views from above.  We also made sure we went to EVERY floor of Macy's...twice.  I was in heaven!  We stopped by the U.N. to see if Jack Bauer was around, peeked inside Grand Central Station, and we walked to Brooklyn (my momma's homedigs!) via the Brooklyn Bridge to get some yummy Grimaldi's Pizza and some more awesome views (as if we hadn't had enough).  Here are some of the moments...

That's it of our trip!  From there we went to Albany, NY because Aaron had some work to do there, but then we went back to DC to have a lil visit with my sisters!! More to come!
